I recently learned about a cool company called Plated.

As a working Mom, I am always looking for ways to make high quality, good tasting meals with as little work as possible.  I have tried make ahead places like Dream Dinners  and those are good but you usually have to plan ahead, you have to go pick it up, you need a lot of freezer storage space, etc. Remember what I said about as little work as possible? Plated is a home delivery service which delivers fresh, healthy ingredients to prepare a gourmet meal.  You go online, choose a number of servings from a menu, select a delivery date and voila – everything you need to make a delicious homemade meal.  Plated is a cool company because they put together eclectic menus and arm you with everything you need to be a gourmet chef without having to commit to an entire jar of some bizarre spice or oil.

So, I placed my first order of 4 servings and they arrived yesterday!  I was very excited to see the box on my doorstep!

Welcome to you too, Plated!

So, I hauled that bad boy inside and unpacked it right away.  It’s packaged in a 100% recyclable, biodegradable box.  The ingredients are packed fresh and pre-portioned to cut back on waste.  I love the environmentally conscious nature not only of the product you buy but also the packaging it’s delivered in.  The ingredients are kept fresh thanks to frozen ice packs and a thermal lining inside the box.

Look at all that green stuff!

I tried to order things from the menu that I would not normally have tried at home. I ordered 2 servings of Beef Bibimbap which i have had in a restaurant and loved but would NEVER have tried to cook at home on my own.  I also ordered 2 servings of Dijon Pork Medallions with Broccolini and Smashed Potatoes because my husband loves Pork and I love Broccolini but have struggled to make it at home.

All of the ingredients come individually packaged (and measured -yay!) to make putting the meals together easy.  You follow the recipe cards to make each meal and Plated also provides links to online videos to help you if you get stumped.

The ingredients will stay fresh for 4-5 days so I am planning to make these on Friday and Saturday nights.  I will definitely post the experience of making these and let you know how they turn out.  But for now, I am excited about it!

If you want to get your own Plated meals, visit their website and check out their menus or visit them on Facebook to see what others are cooking.  They are offering $15 off your first order!

*I was not compensated by Plated in any way for this post.
